Fifth Short Film Competition

Applications for the year of 2020 for the Short Film Competition organized by the Sabancı Foundation as of 2016 in order to attract attention to social issues through arts were completed.

This year, 282 films from 43 different provinces in Turkey applied for the 5th Short Film Competition of the Sabancı Foundation, organized with the theme “Changing Climate, Changing Lives” through the slogan “Who is Affected by the Climate Change”. After the pre-evaluation of the jury, the names of 13 finalist films and their directors were announced on the website of the Short Film Platform (

13 short films which make it to the finals will be evaluated and 3 short films entitled to rank in will be determined by the jury. Due to the COVID-19 pandemics, awards will be granted in the ceremony to be held online for the first time this year through YouTube channel of the Sabancı Foundation on 13 January.

The works presenting the causes of climate change, its effects on our lives and what needs to be done in this regard, meeting the criteria, and considered to be catchy and creative will be awarded as follows: first prize is 20,000 TL, second prize 15,000 TL and third prize 10,000 TL.
