Fatih Küçük - The Cartoon Mill
Fatih Küçük, who has started his journey to contribute to the development of cartoon culture in Turkey, has founded Turkey’s first independent school of animated cartoon ‘The Cartoon Mill’ in 2016 after accomplished numerous artistic activities all around the country. In the school, where people of all ages are trained, workshops are organized on various subjects such as cartoon history, designing characters and producing animated cartoons.
Students participate in animation workshops on character design and movement using electronic tablets that are provided by The Cartoon Mill. In this way, the school creates a space for students to discover different aspects of technology, and activities are carried out to develop students' storytelling and manual skills. In the Cartoon Mill, which also contains a Cartoon&Toy Museum, nature trips and gardening are a part of the education process. Moreover, children are able to develop their hand skills and manufacture new items thanks to the toy workshops.
The Cartoon Mill not only contributes to animation education, but also to the economic development of the region. Organic products are provided from the local farmers in the village for the training camps organized in the school, which is located in the forest and away from the settlements. The Cartoon Mill, which has reached thousands of children so far, calls off its activities with a Cartoon Festival at the end of every year. In the festival, which is attended by cartoon artists from all over the world, works produced by students throughout the year are displayed.
Fatih Küçük continues to shape the future of children and bring them together with art thanks to his contributions to cartoon and art education. While making a difference with the cartoon in the lives of talented children and young people, Fatih Küçük also contributes to raise a generation of art enthusiasts.
