The Second Civil Society Index (CSI) Report For Turkey Was Published - March 2011

With support of the Sabanci Foundation and other donors, Third Sector Foundation of Turkey (TUSEV) completed the second Civil Society Index Report (CSI) for Turkey and published the final report in March 2011.

The Civil Society Index Project (CSI) is a participatory needs assessment and action planning tool developed by CIVICUS (World Alliance for Citizen Participation) with the aim of creating a knowledge base and momentum for civil society strengthening initiatives across the globe.

The main objective of the CSI project is to;

  • Increase the visibility and knowledge of civil society in Turkey,
  • Compromising the CSO representatives on an action plan to empower civil society in Turkey,
  • Encourage partnerships and communications among civil society,
  • Building capacity of CSOs for them to gather, analyze and share information

CSI’s first research project (2003-2006) covered 53 countries worldwide, including Turkey and the first country report was published in 2007 (for the report click here).
